Make Your Own Batre Game at Home

Want to try Batre before buying a copy? You can build a playable set in just a few minutes using common household items.

Components List:

1. An 8x8 Game Board

2. 30 Playing Pieces

3. Two 6-Sided Dice

4. A Jail Area

5. Two Hero Pieces

What You'll Need:

1. An 8x8 Game Board

A standard Chess or Checkers board works perfectly.

2. 30 Playing Pieces

You'll need 15 pieces for each player in two distinct colors.

Almost anything works for this:

  • Checkers pieces

  • Backgammon pieces

  • Pennies vs. dimes

  • Poker chips

3. Two 6-Sided Dice

You'll roll both dice each turn.

A dice cup is optional but recommended.

4. A Jail Area

The Jail is a space beside the board numbered 1 through 6 where captured pieces are placed.

Suggestions:

  • Dominoes numbered 1-6

  • A piece of paper with 6 numbered spaces

  • Six sticky notes labeled 1-6

5. Two Hero Pieces

You'll need one Hero piece for each player, ideally matching the color of each player's pieces.

Suggestions:

  • Chess Knights

  • Small figurines

  • Coins or tokens
